HOW IT WORKS
After downloading the plugin, open the post drafting page on Reddit and type up the post that you are hoping to make, and input the title and subreddit.
NEXT
Open the Privacy Mirror plugin, and click “scan post”! From there, we’ll estimate your population risk (how many other people the details you included could apply to), and suggest ways to mitigate your privacy risks, while maintaining the original intention of your post!
NEXT
After editing the privacy risks in your post, you can rescan it and repeat the process until you’ve either eliminated the risks, or reached a comfortable threshold.

With so many AI technologies being developed to re-identify internet users on anonymous or pseudonymous online platforms, we wanted to flip the script and see whether we could use this same technology to help people protect themselves from being de-anonymized!
Privacy Mirror is a human-centered tool we built with the goal of empowering users to continue to engage in online discourse and support seeking while avoiding the threat of re-identification.
